Aldene Lewis Darnell

Aldene Lewis Darnell age 85, of Pilot Mountain, NC, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at his home.
He was born on December 18, 1929 in Surry County to the late John Lewis Darnell and Caroline Noah Darnell.
Aldene worked for the Town of Pilot Mountain for 47 years. He was also a Volunteer for the Pilot Mountain Fire Department.
Mr. Darnell is survived by his significant other of 35 years, Lucy E. Collins; one sister, Lavita Lawson; four grandchildren, Karen Renee Darnell, Bradley Darnell and wife, Katherine, Kay Sowder, JoAnne Lawson.
He was predeceased by his parents; one son, Donald Gray Darnell; one daughter, Cathy Darnell; one brother, Alber Darnell and infant sister.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Don Collins officiating. Internment will follow at Pilot Mountain City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Cox-Needham Funeral Home on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
