I am so sorry to hear about Alvin's passing. My husband, Daniel Rudy, met Alvin at the YMCA and they would always talk about Corvettes as they both owned them. Alvin stopped by our house at least two times to check on my husband who was fighting cancer. Rudy passed away last November and I do hope that he and Alvin are meeting again in heaven. Prayers to the family.

Bill and I are really heartbroken for Alvins's family. Alvin was such a figure here at the YMCA and we will miss him terribly. Billy got to know Alvin by working out in the early mornings with him and talked about racing a lot. I saw him everyday since I work the front desk and got to know him. I can speak for all the staff at the Stokes Family YMCA that Alvin will be missed and the Y will not be the same with out him. Love and prayers to the family.

I didn't really know Alvin growing up in Pinnacle, but it felt like I did from all stories and good things people in the community had to say about Alvin. From what I heard, he was an outstanding athlete. When I got to know Alvin at the Y he laughed about those stories and how he enjoyed the friendship of his teammates. Alvin and I talked often about growing up in Stokes County, Cars and especially the memories we both shared about our time in the Marine Corps. Semper Fi my friend.
