Mr. Chester Eugene Goins passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 26, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Chester was born on February 18, 1938 in Stokes County to Eugene Monroe Goins and Della Irene Loggins Goins. Chester worked for several different companies doing anything from bulldozing to construction to managerial jobs to driving a shuttle van. He worked for Spainhour Brothers, Jimmy Lynch, A.T. Williams Oil Co., Taylor Oil Company and Modern Nissan.

 

Chester was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings; James Goins, Mary Goins Hauser, Alford Goins, and Mildred Goins Darnell. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Cox Goins.

 

Chester is survived by his wife, Pat Cook Goins. Daughters, Cindi Goins and Pam Cook Railey (Greg); Sons, Patrick (Celeste Varela) Cook, Ricky (Nicole) Cook, and Nicholas (Jennifer) Cook. Grandchildren, Patti Bruce (Daniel Snyder), Ryan Bruce, Adam Cook,and Lucas Cook. Brother Robert (Theresa) Goins. Special friends Kim Wilkinson, Carol Wilkinson.

 

He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends.

 

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Tobaccoville, NC. The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall.

 

The family would like to thank the staff of Forsyth Memorial Hospital 8th Floor Palliative Care Unit for the love and support shown to the family during this time.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House and Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Cemetery Fund, Tobaccoville, NC.
