Donny Kent Collins, age 66, of Mt. Airy, NC, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2015, at his home.
He was born on March 24, 1949 in Surry County, NC to the late Calvin Coolidge Collins and Ruby Lee Barnes Collins.
Donny served in the US Army, three tours in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Beulahland Baptist Church.
Mr. Collins is survived by his daughter, Hope Collins Solomon; brother, Marty Thomas and wife, Sherry; sister, Denise Jackson; grandson, Colby Solomon; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Lula Collins; special aunt, Leathy Ferguson; special friends, Rock Marshall and Jackie Horsley.
He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Mike Collins and Randy Collins; son-in-law, Michael Solomon.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Brother Anthony Gordy officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Friends Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Cox-Needham Funeral Home on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M and at other times at the home of Denise Jackson, 112 Jimba Trail, White Plaines, NC.
