Doris Jane (Smith) Gordon

Doris Jane Gordon, “Janie”, age 69, of King, NC, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Village Care of King.

She was born on November 2, 1946 in Stokes County, NC to the late Hancle Smith and Hazel Denny Smith.

Mrs. Gordon is survived by a son, Steven (Bonnie) Gordon; a daughter, Pamela (Mickey) Kinzer; two sisters, Peggy Guynn and Sandra (David) Smith; three grandchildren, Wendy Kinzer, Ashley (Joseph) Barton, and Matthew Kirby; and five great-grandchildren, Lydia Loudy, Brayden Barton, Abianne Barton, Elijah Barton, and Levi Kirby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel Harvey Gordon and her parents.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Gospel Baptist Church at 2 P.M. with Pastor John Hylton and Bro. Kyle Samuels officiating.

The family will receive friends and family on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home from 6 to 8 P.M. and at other times at the home of Pamela Kinzer at 113 Twelve Oaks Drive, Apt C, King, NC 27021.
