Fount June Essick

Fount June Essick, age 75, of Pilot Mountain, NC, passed away on October 20, 2015 at his home.

He was born on June 2, 1940 in Surry County, NC to the late Johnny L. Essick and Delmon Hazel Smith Essick.

June was a Deacon of New Beginning Baptist Church, a retired farmer and carpenter.

Mr. Essick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joy Ray Essick; one son, Jimmy Ray Essick; two daughters, Crystal Essick Stevens and husband, Tim, Sherri Essick Jessup and husband, Brad; one brother, Roger Essick and wife, Elizabeth; five sisters, Betty Jo Shelton, Ruth Gordon and husband, Ronald, Mildred Hooker, Nancy Gallant and husband, Donald, Sylvia Sisk and husband, Glenn; seven grandchildren, Tonya Stevens Jessup and husband, Zack, Miranda Stevens, Brandon Essick, Justin Essick, Carli Essick, Cheyenne Jessup Webster and husband, Austin, Levi Jessup and five great-grandchildren, Dawson Hutchens, Ethan Jessup, Sarah Jessup, Norah Jessup, Waylon Webster.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 23, 2015 at New Beginning Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Louis Martin and Rev. Jack Anderson officiating.  Interment will follow at New Beginning Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at New Beginning Baptist Church from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. He will remain at the church until the hour of the service.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Joey and Sabrina McKeithan.

Floral tributes will be accepted, or memorials may be given to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 129 Veterans Drive, Pilot Mountain, NC  27041.
