Hunter McKinley Sawyers, age 21, of Pinnacle, NC, went home to be with the Lord on October 17, 2017.

He was born on October 13, 1996 in Forsyth County, NC to Barry and Wendy Sawyers.

Our dear, precious Hunter was such an amazing young man with a sweet, loving soul.

He was blessed to find a beautiful, everlasting love with his soul mate, Elaina Bullard.  The happiness they gave each other was a cherished gift.  Although, their time together was short, their love was profound and never ending.

An avid outdoorsman, Hunter enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, kayaking, disc golf, camping, dirt biking and parkour.  He was also a natural athlete, evident from his baseball talent and cross country victories.  Hunter "the stuntman" Sawyers kept us on our toes with pranks and his quick wit had us laughing so hard we cried.  He loved making movies, sending silly Snapchats and singing (maybe a little too loudly) in the shower.  Hunter enjoyed time with Elaina, his family and friends.  He also enjoyed aggravating his cousins and playing with Tyson Bull-Saw, the best dog ever!

Hunter was wise beyond his years, always praying to God for wisdom.  He also had a way about him - a gift of comfort that put everyone at ease.  Hunter can be described as a perfect gentleman, kind, loyal, helpful, honest, trustworthy, and full of integrity.  Although accurate, these words don't seem to touch how special he was. A "bright light" in the darkness.  Although Hunter only blessed this world a short time, he lived his life to the fullest and would want us to do the same.  In honor of him, we will do that and carry out the good works he set forth.  Hunter was a faithful child of God who cared deeply for others evident by his favorite scripture John 15:13 "“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (KJV)

We will so miss his beautiful smile and loving heart, but find great comfort knowing he is with God and this is not goodbye, just farewell for now.

Hunter is survived by his parents, Barry and Wendy Sawyers; his fiancé and love of his life, Elaina Bullard; a brother, Chase Sawyers and girlfriend, Brittany Shaw; his grandparents, Wayne and Pat Hauser; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved dog, Tyson Bull-Saw.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Aubrey Sawyers and Ruby and Curtis Sechrist; and his great-grandmother, Hazel White.

Hunter was a dedicated member of Parkview Primitive Baptist Church but to accommodate the large number of family and friends a funeral service will be conducted at First Christian Church on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2 P.M. with Elder E.W. Hooven, Elder Eddie Fowler, and Elder Branan Hooven officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at First Christian Church, 625 Meadowbrook Drive, King N.C. 27021.
