June Estelle (Shockley) Branscome

June Estelle Branscome, age 87, of Mount Airy, NC, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016.

She was born on June 3, 1928 in Carroll County, VA to William Arthur Shockley and Eliza Alderman Shockley.

Mrs. Branscome is survived by two sons, Mike Branscome and wife, Brenda of Pfafftown and Terry Branscome and Cindy Noonkester of Mount Airy; a daughter, Janet LaVon Branson and husband, James of Mount Airy; four grandchildren, Jaymee Branson Chandler and husband, Jeff of Mount Airy, Landon Branson of Mount Airy, Brandon Branscome and wife, Andrea of Lewisville, and Caleb Hamm of Mount Airy; and five great-grandchildren, Lee Branson, Daisy Branson, Ethan Chandler, Cameron Branscome, and Matthew Branscome.

Mrs. Branscome was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Branscome; her parents; her sister, Dallas Phibbs; and two brothers, Dewey Shockley and Delmon Shockley.

A private family graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Skyline Memory Gardens at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Tommy Slate officiating. 

At June’s request, there will not be a formal visitation.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice of Surry County.
