Katie Bell Webb

Katie Bell Webb was born July 15, 1928 in Rose Hill, NC to the late John L. McClain and Mary Furlow. She is preceded in death by her Husband Samuel Webb Jr. of Jones, LA and her parents of Winston-Salem, NC.

Ms. Katie as she was affectionately known graduated from Duplin County Schools. After leaving Rose Hill she moved to Hoboken, NJ and began working at Equitable Life Insurance Company. She met Samuel Webb Jr during that time and they married. That union brought fourth five children and they eventually settled in Laurelton, NY. After working for many years in the New York Public School system she retired to become a Homemaker. Katie and Samuel eventually moved to Winston-Salem North Carolina after retirement.

Nana as she was known by her Grandchildren greatly loved all of them. She would spend many hours talking about them and to them. We had wished many times that they all had lived closer but remained in constant contact with all of her grandchildren.

Katie B.Webb, 87, departed this life on October 12, 2015 at Moses Cone Hospital.  She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Bruce Webb (Laverne) of Winston-Salem NC, Gregory Webb (Denise) of Hempstead NY, Anthony Webb of Queens NY, Tracy Webb (Shermaine) of Greensboro NC and Latrecia A. Webb, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as a host of relatives and friends. She also had a special relationship with Mrs. Cathy Collins.

 Services entrusted to Cox-Needham Funeral Home

Homegoing services will be held at 10 am at Central Triad Church on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. The family will receive friends from 10 am to 10:30 am at the church. Interment will follow the funeral service at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury NC.
