Louise (Chilton) Tilley
February 3, 1920 ~ June 25, 2016 (age 96) 96 Years OldLouise Chilton Tilley, age 96, of Mount Airy, NC, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016.
She was born on February 3, 1920 in Stokes County, NC to the late Floyd Harold Chilton and Della Mae Smith Chilton.
Mrs. Tilley is survived by three sons, Terry Mack (Yvonne) Tilley of Advance, NC, Wayne Douglas (Lois) Tilley of Pilot Mountain, NC, and Gary Carson (Connie) Tilley of Dobson, NC; ten grandchildren, Melanie Tilley (Bobby) Paff of Beijing, China, David Terry (Katherine) Tilley of Carolina Beach, NC, Deborah Tilley (Byron) Voigt of Pilot Mountain, NC, Wayne Douglas (Lisa) Tilley, Jr. of Rural Hall, NC, Doreen Michelle Tilley of Winston-Salem, NC, Myra Amanda Tilley of Dobson, NC, Jared Carson (Cindy) Tilley of Huntersville, NC, Rachel Tilley (Kevin) Haynie of Pilot Mountain, NC, Rebekah Faith Tilley of Dobson, NC, and Jeremy Bryan (Royale) Tilley of Advance, NC; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two sisters, Nancy Chilton Palmer of Pilot Mountain, NC, and Gail Chilton Joyce of Westfield, NC.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vance Carson Tilley; her parents; two brothers, Hugh Wilbur Chilton and Floyd Harold “F.H.” Chilton, Jr.; two sisters, Sarah Margaret Chilton Christian and Lillian Inez Chilton Sheppard; one great-grandchild, Dallin James Tilley; and numerous nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Asbury Presbyterian Church at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Terry Collins and Rev. Rickey Rogers officiating. Mrs. Tilley will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
