Mary Christine Overbay

Mary Christine Overbay, age 82, of Elkin, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, February 11, 2018. Christine was born in Sweetwater, Tennessee; on February 11, 1936 to Paul C. Whorley and Mary S. Seymour. Christine is survived by two sons, Larry Overbay Jr., of Elkin, NC and Matt (Veronica) Overbay of Winston-Salem, NC; a daughter, Joan Overbay of Elkin, NC; a grandson, Brandon Overbay of Elkin, NC and a granddaughter, Brandy (Paul) Andrus of Knoxville, TN. She is also survived by a brother, Frank (Kelli) Seymour of Chattanooga, TN and a sister, Vickie Justice of Raleigh, NC. Christine was a devoted wife, exceptional mother and grandmother; and a devout servant to the Lord. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at Gospel Baptist Church: 1104 Mill Street, Pinnacle, NC 27043 with brother John Hylton officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The American Heart Association: 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979.
