June 8, 1941 ~ September 30, 2016 (age 75) 75 Years OldNancy Belle Joyce Smith
June 8, 1941- September 30, 2016
On September 30, 2016 Mom entered into eternal rest. Although she fought a long tough battle with cancer, she is now free to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mom, never questioned her faith in the Lord, not through the sickness, pain and suffering, loss of family and the love of her life, Samuel Ray Smith (04-13-2015).
Nancy is the daughter of the late William Ausbon Joyce and Maxie Lynch Joyce. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Tommy Alonzo Joyce, William Junior Joyce, James Aubrey Joyce and Arnold Jack Joyce.
She is survived by her Son, Michael Ray Smith (Dorothy) of King; daughters , Rhonda Smith Shelton (Todd) of Eden , Sherry Smith Kahn (Charlie) of Madison and Joy Smith Durham (Ricky) of Stoneville; grandchildren , Ashley Stacey(Zack), Nicholas Carter (Whitney), Shannon Smith (Kevin), Christian Kahn, Emily Vernon and Autumn Trent; and great-grandchildren, Reagan, Stacey , Jacob and Karlie Smith, Logan Wilson and Amelia Carter.
Nancy enjoyed painting and flower gardening. She loved her trips with Dad to Pilot Mountain where she made her rounds and everyone knew “Nancy and Ray”. Nancy had an iron will to survive even when the odds were stacked against her. She never considered herself disabled. She would find a way. With Dad by her side, the strong lady of faith seemed invincible.
