Nora May (anders) Willard

Mrs. Nora May Anders Willard, age 90, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013. She was born on April 25, 1923 in Mercer County, W Virginia to the late Cleve and Etta Simmons Anders.

Mrs. Willard is survived by nine children, Donald Jewel, Thomas (Lee) Willard of Westfield, Shirley (Kenny) Hamlett of Danville, VA, Pete (Mary) Willard of Westfield, David (Mildred) Willard of Westfield, Martha (Russell) McBride of Mt. Airy, Paul (Phyllis) Willard of Ararat, VA, Sarah (Edward) Niten of Mt. Airy, Mark (Penny) Willard of Mt. Airy; forty grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother, James Anders; two sisters, Polly Stack and Ruth Overby.

Mrs. Willard was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Willard; her parents; two children, Mary Willard and Helen Hill; ten brothers, Kyle, Roger, Earl, Terry, Grat, Cryonal, Ralph, Clarence, Ellis, and ElmerAnders; and one sister, Truler Anders.

Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Korner’s Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery  with Rev. Darrell Price officiating. Interment will follow at Korner’s Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.  At other times the family will be at 189 Graystone Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030.

Floral tributes will be accepted.
