Ruby May (Gillespie) Harvey

Ruby May Gillespie Harvey, age 96, of Pinnacle, NC, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Village Care of King.

Ruby was born on March 15, 1920 in Surry County, NC to Charlie Walter Gillespie and Mary Leanna Gillespie.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Frances Harvey Marion and husband, Donald; five grandchildren, Sandy Hunter and husband, Max, Connie Smith and husband, Keith, Jan Kiser and husband, Brian, David Marion, and Gwen Tipton; seven great-grandchildren, Natalie Wright, Preston Smith, Bryce Smith, Morgan Smith, Corben Kiser, Chase Kiser, and Megan Bradsher; and one great-great-grandchild, Myles Wright.

Mrs. Harvey was preceded in death by her husband, Dolphus Raymond Harvey; her parents; a son, Richard Gray Harvey; a brother, Sanford Gillespie; two sisters, Ethel Creed and Alice McCollum; two half-sisters, Jeanette Phillips and Lillian Phillips; and a half-brother, William Gillespie.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M.. Internment will follow at Shoals United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M.
