Ruth Hardin Tyner

Ruth Hardin Tyner, age 92, of Mount Airy, NC, passed away on October 8, 2017 at Northern Hospital of Surry County.

She was born on June 22, 1925 in Iredell County, NC to the late Roger Lee Hardin and Minnie Delle Ladd Hardin. Ruth was a resident of Twelve Oaks Assisted Living.

Mrs. Tyner is survived by three daughters, Jenny (Ronnie) Combs of Mount Airy, Wanda Richardson of King, and Rebecca Jessup of Westfield; six grandchildren, Taffi Ayers, Autumn (Jason Giggins) Ayers, Joseph Ayers, David Ridings, Dawn (Mike) Stone, and Roger Dale (Melissa) Jessup, Jr.; seven great-grandchildren, Liam Giggins, Mia Giggins, Codie Stone, Brandon Stone, Olivia Jessup, Wyatt Jessup, and Christine Fowler; and one great-great-grandchild, Lily Edwards.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former spouse, Gilbert A. Tyner;  four brothers, James Crystal Hardin, Leonard Wood Hardin, Roger Lee Hardin, Jr., and Charley Hardin; and three sisters, Ina Lee Lawson, Iner Delle Hardin, and Ruby Mae McHargue.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home at 2 P.M. with Rev. Danny Hall officiating.

Interment will follow in the Pilot Mountain City Cemetery.

Ruth will lie in state prior to the service from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
