William Clayton (Clay) Waugh, age 66, of Pilot Mountain, NC, formerly of Toms River, NJ, passed away on September 19, 2015, at Forsyth Medical Center.
He was born on May 13, 1949 in Calhoun County, Alabama to the late James Thomas Waugh and Geneva Green Waugh.
Clay was loved by everyone. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1021, The Arc of Surry and D.A.V in New Jersey and North Carolina.
Mr. Waugh is survived by his wife of 43 years, Diane Amato Waugh; one son, Kyle Waugh and wife, Caitlin; one brother, Pat Waugh and wife Jean; brother-in-law, Benny Amato and wife, Bonnie; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Waugh and Cookie Weinckosky and husband, Charlie; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and many family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; one brother, Tommy Waugh and one sister-in-law, Madeline Pitcher.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September, 26, 2015 at Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church at 1:30 P.M. with Father Larry Heiney officiating. Interment will follow at The Veteran Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
