Howard Lichtenberger Obituary

Howard Eugene Lichtenberger passed away suddenly at his home with his loved ones by his side on the afternoon of March 13th, 2024 at the age of 73.

Born February 14th, 1951 in Elkhart, Indiana to Harold and Dottie Lichtenberger. Howard’s family moved to North Carolina at an early age where he spent his childhood and early adult life in both High Point and Kernersville, before moving to Pilot Mountain in 1997.

Howard attended Western Carolina University where he obtained an Associate's degree in Business. Howard went on to start his career working in the textile industry. 17 years later, Howard opened his own business “Amtex” which continues to thrive today. Howard relished the last several years of his life in retirement and could most often be found working outdoors on the land he loved.

Howard was known for being an exceedingly loving, devoted & giving family man. He had unwavering faith, a strong work ethic, and a witty sense of humor. Howard enjoyed croquet, cards, shuffleboard, or any game he could play with his family and was always a gracious loser. His ability to continue to exercise, work, and enjoy life until the end of his journey is a testament to his fortitude and humility.  His strength, endurance, comedic spirit, competitive nature, and zest for life will continue to live on through his family and loved ones.

Howard is preceded in death by his father Harold, mother Dottie, and brother Jerry Lichtenberger. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Louise. His sister Sandy Shipman. As well as his three daughters: Trena Fogleman (husband, Duane), Michelle Freeman, and Erica Lichtenberger and his son JT Lichtenberger; six grandchildren: Kristen Martin (husband, Ocer), Michael Fogleman (wife, Meredith), Devin Fogleman, Joshua Fogleman (wife, Brianna), Hope Gillispie, Levi Freeman, and five great-granddaughters.
