John Bernard Christy, Jr.

Mr. John Bernard Christy Jr., age 61, of Westfield, passed away on April 16th, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on February 24th, 1963, in Guilford County, North Carolina, to Pansy Shelton Christy and the late John Bernard Christy.

During his life, Mr. Christy began his career in law enforcement at the Fayetteville Police Department in Fayetteville, NC, where he worked for five years. He retired from Guilford County Sheriff’s Office with 32 years of law enforcement service.

In his free time, Mr. Christy enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family who he loved dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer B. Christy; children, Andrew James Christy (Courtney), Matthew Michael Christy (Jessica), and Garrett Brian Christy (Taylor); grandchildren, Levi Christy, Macy Christy, Reagan Christy, Reed Christy, Noah Martindale, and Jackson Christy; mother, Pansy S. Christy; and two brothers, Sheldon Christy, and Daniel Christy.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, April 19th, 2024, at Shelton Family Cemetery, located at 1105 Junior Shelton Road, Westfield, NC 27053, at 11:30am with Preacher Charles Mustian officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 19th, 2024, from 10:00am to 11:00am at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
