Miss Margaret Anne Reid, age 86, of Winston-Salem, passed away on February 19th, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
She was born on August 29th 1937, in Forsyth County to the late George Byron and Anne Frances Phipps Reid. She grew up and attended school in Pilot Mountain. She later moved to Winston-Salem where she worked for McLean Trucking Company for many years and made many life-long friends.
Miss Reid was a talented painter and artist. She enjoyed animals, especially cats. She loved plants and gardening. She especially loved visiting her family and spending time at the beach. Miss Reid had a witty personality and enjoyed making people laugh.
She is survived by her nieces, Cynthia Reid Dearmin (Van), Alyson Reid Maupin (James); great nieces, Sarah Walters, Laura Walters, and Emily Maupin; great nephew, William Merritt Maupin.
In addition to her parents, Miss Reid was preceded in death by her brother, William George Reid; great nephew, William Reid Walters; and special aunt Katherine Reid.
A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, February 25th, 2024, at Pilot City Cemetery at 2:00pm with Pastor Jeremy Pegram officiating.
Memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church of Pilot Mountain and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
