Mr. Ricky Harold Tucker, age 68, a dedicated and skilled auto mechanic who brought life to engines and joy to those around him, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 31st, 2024, at his home.
Mr. Tucker was born on November 9th, 1955, in Wake County, NC, to the late Thomas “Tommy” and Fannie Ingram Tucker.
Mr. Tucker’s journey began at Tuckers Garage, where he learned the ins and outs of automotive craftmanship alongside his father. With a passion for tinkering and a knack for fixing things, he later lent his expertise to Jasper Motorsports, specializing in engine construction, before joining the team at Pro Motor Engineers.
Throughout his career, Mr. Tucker was renowned for his ability to breathe life into motors and mend any machinery that crossed his path, be it a car, truck, or tractor. His dedication to his craft was matched only by his warm and inviting personality. A loving and caring man, he found immense joy in connecting with others, often sharing laughter and jokes with friends and strangers alike.
Mr. Tucker’s love for classic cars was evident to all who knew him. Whether he was attending cruise-ins or spending time with his beloved classic car family, his passion for vintage automobiles shone brightly. Beyond his mechanical prowess, he was a devoted member of Friendly Chapel Church, finding solace and strength in his faith, he truly loved the Lord.
Above all else, Mr. Tucker cherished his family and friends, finding fulfillment in their company and making cherished memories together. He approached life with an open heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His genuine love for people and zest for life left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mr. Tucker leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering generosity. Though he may have departed from this world, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his presence.
Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife, Lisa Darlene Dalton Tucker; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmie and Kaye Tucker of Mount Airy, NC; a sister, Pam Campbell of Gaffney, SC; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, April 5th, 2024, at Friendly Chapel Church at 3pm with Pastor Ryan Whitt and Darius “D.C.” Collins officiating.
