Alvin Preston Sams

Mr. Alvin Preston Sams, age 74, of King, NC, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson NC. He was born on August 31,1943 in Stokes Co., NC to the late John Wesley and Irene Sheppard Sams. Mr. Sams is survived by a daughter, Melissa Baskin, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Loyd and Joann Sams, and Glenn and Ellen Sams, one sister and brother-in-law Estelle and Eugene Gordon, also two grandchildren Joseph Taylor Baskin and Olivia Allison Baskin. He was predeceased by his parents, John Wesley and Irene Sheppard Sams, two brothers, Franklin Sams and Ralph Sams; and two sisters Shirley Fulk and Virginia Lyons. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday January 22, 2018 at Brims Grove Baptist Church at 2 P.M. with Rev. Gerald Jones and Matt Linville officiating. Interment will follow in the Brims Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Full Military Honors by King American Legion Post 290.The family will receive friends on Monday January 22, 2018 from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at Brims Grove Baptist Church.
