Archie F. Spangler

Mr. Archie F. Spangler, age 78, of Westfield went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 15, 2019, at Surry Health and Rehab, in Mount Airy, NC.  Mr. Spangler was born on November 19, 1940, to Thayer and Margaret Middleton Spangler. 

He was a truck driver and never met a stranger or missed a chance to buy someone, who was down on their luck, a meal or help them in any way. He was a friend to all and will be missed by many. He loved the Lord with all of his heart and was a loving daddy, pa paw and friend to all. Archie will be missed by many.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Rhonda Spangler, Terry (Van) Spangler, Michael (Fran) Spangler, John Spangler and Lisa Heath; step-children Kris Andrews and Rene (Billy) Reece;  four grandchildren, Yeshua Spangler, Summer (Cody) Doss, Brianna (Dakota) Overby, and Tiffanie Bankester; and four great-grandchildren, Averie, Archer, and Axton Doss and Savannah Holton.           .   

Mr. Spangler was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jimmy Spangler; and three sisters, Judy  Ziglar, Dottie Lilligore and Brenda Spangler; and a step-daughter, Sheila Bordeaux. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 18, 2019, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Bro. Tommy Nichols and Rev. Rickey Rogers officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC.  with full military rites provided by the National Guard, Mount Airy VFW Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain VFW Post 9436.
