Avaline Mae (Hauser) Strickland

Avaline Hauser Strickland,85, of Pinnacle, NC passed away Friday, July 12, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.  She was a loving wife and mother. After retiring from healthcare, she enjoyed being a homemaker and baking buttermilk biscuits and making pear preserves for her family and friends.  Mrs. Strickland was a member of Shoals United Methodist Church and known for her kind heart.

She was born October 9, 1933 in Surry County, to John William Hauser and Jennie Bell Edwards Hauser.  She is survived by one daughter, Debra Strickland (Thomas) Lipscomb; one son, Bobby Wayne (Darlene) Strickland; one sister, Mary Bell Curry; one brother, Billy Gray Hauser; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, July 15, 2019 from 6:00-7:00 pm with funeral services on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 3:00 pm in the Cox-Needham Funeral Home chapel.  Burial will follow at Shoals United Methodist Church Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John William and Jennie Bell Edwards Hauser; her husband, George Strickland; one daughter, Frankie Strickland Johnson; two sons, Jimmy Strickland and George Glenn Strickland; four sisters, Larcie Boyles, Molly Francis Hauser, Clara Rebecca Edwards, and Annie Ruth Hauser; five brothers, John Wesley Hauser, Aldean Hauser, Bruce Hauser, William Ralph Hauser and Odell Hauser; and one great-grandchild, Hanna Lynn Noisey.

A very special thanks to Barbara Anders for her loving care of, and friendship to Mrs. Strickland.
