Ernest Ashburn, age 87, of Ararat, NC, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.
He was born on April 15, 1930 in Surry County, NC to the late John William Ashburn and MaryAnn Rachel Ashburn.
Mr. Ashburn is survived by his three sons, Clyde David Ashburn, Sammy Lee Ashburn, and Harold Wayne Ashburn; a daughter, Carol Jean Ashburn; and several grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; his loving wife, Ina Mae Ashburn; five brothers, Hardin Ashburn, David Ashburn, Lindsey Ashburn, Marvin Ashburn, and Genie Ashburn; and two sisters, Stella Ashburn and Alice Ashburn.
A Graveside Service will be conducted on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Ladonia Baptist Church at 2 P.M. with Rev. Larry Stone and Rev. Jim Vaughn officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
