Evelyn Virginia (Simmons) Taylor

Evelyn Virginia Simmons Taylor, age 89, of Pilot Mountain, NC, passed away on April 4, 2017 at Woltz Hospice Home.

She was born on September 3, 1927 in Surry County, NC to the late Charlie Worth Simmons and Nannie Inman Simmons.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by a daughter, Brenda (Don) Marshall; two grandchildren, Anthony Marshall and Charles Marshall; two nieces, Norma Werts and Shirley Matheny; one nephew, Tom East; and a special friend and caregiver, Donette Brown.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Willie Taylor; three sisters, Lois Simmons, Pauline Fauls, and Ruby Nall; and two brothers, Ray Simmons and Graham Simmons.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Simmons Grove Baptist Church at 4 P.M. with Rev. Dale Wallace and Rev. Stewart Mauck officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Simmons Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Junior Stevens, 109 Sapphire Lane, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.
