Jack Badgett Obituary

Jack Wesley Badgett, age 93, of North Wilkesboro, passed away at his home on Friday, June 8, 2018. He was born on September 24, 1924, to the late Hoyt Lee Badgett and Ruby Annie Denny Badgett.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years and 51 weeks, Betty Lue Nester Badgett; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack Badgett, Jr. and wife, Donnis and Gary Badgett and wife, Regina; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna Wilmoth and husband, Wayne, Annie Lee Wall and husband, Edgar, Madge Mills and husband, Alton, Dorothy Scott, and Gladys Shuler; and a brother and sister-in-law, Ray Badgett and wife, Sue.

Mr. Badgett proudly served his country in the US Army from 1944-1946.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt Lee Badgett and Ruby Annie Denny Badgett; a sister, Edith Nixon; two brothers, Jim Badgett and Preston Badgett; and a great-granddaughter, Tatum Bryant.

A graveside service with military honors will be conducted on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Westfield Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mark Hall and Terry Scott officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
