Mr. John Casey King, age 92, of Pilot Mountain, NC, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Central Continuing Care. He was born on July 11, 1926 to John Harrison King and Linda Edwards. Mr. King proudly served in the Army of the United States during WWII. He spent 54 years as a barber and sang gospel music for 37 years with the King Family.
Mr. King is survived by his two sons, David Brian King and wife, Teresa and John Wayne King; his daughter, Wanda Sue Goins and husband, John; his seven grandchildren, Sarah Orchulli, Adam Goins, Austin King, Bobby King, Casey King, Laken King and Andrew King.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Josephine Palmer King, his father, John Harrison King; his mother, Linda Edwards; four brothers, Bruce King, Barnett King, Claude King and Marvin King; and two sisters, Frankie Gwynn and Forrest Jones.
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home at 11:00AM with Dan Buie and Leon Holyfield officiating. Isaiah Johnson will provide music. Interment will follow at Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Pilot Mountain VFW Post 9436, Mount Airy VFW Post 2019, and the North Carolina National Guard.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
