Joy Lynn (Smith) Durham

Mrs. Joy Lynn Smith Durham, age 44, of Stoneville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at her home.  She was born on September 2, 1974, to the late Samuel Ray Smith and Nancy Belle Joyce Smith.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ricky Durham of the home; two daughters, Emily Marie Vernon and Autumn Joan Trent of Eden, NC; step-daughter, Rita May Martin; step-son, Rickey Wayne Durham; brother, Michael Ray Smith and wife, Dorothy of King, NC; two sisters, Rhonda Shelton and husband, Todd of Eden, NC and Sherry Kahn and husband, Charlie of Madison, NC; two nephews, Nicholas Justin Carter and Christian Kahn; two nieces, Ashley Smith and Shannon Smith; two great nephews, Jacob Smith and Logan Wilson; three great nieces, Karlie Smith, Regan Stacey and Amelia Carter; six step-grandchildren, and Joy’s beloved pet, Lucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Ray Smith and Nancy Belle Joyce Smith.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Manuel officiating.

Interment will follow at Volunteer Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 22, 2018, immediately following the committal service at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cancer Society.
