Lucy Rogers Obituary

Mrs. Lucy Evelyn Jessup Rogers, age 88, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.

 

She was born on December 2, 1929 in Surry County to the late Adam Reid and Martha Lee Anderson Jessup.

 

Mrs. Rogers is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Annette (Teddy) Speas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Boyce (Deborah) Rogers, Jr. and Lester Reid (Kathy) Rogers; grandchildren, Aimee (Cole) Podraza, Sarah (John) Capps, Beth Rogers, Lynn Rogers, and David Lewis; sister, Kathleen Frye; brothers, Junior (Leota) Jessup, Beauford (Carol) Jessup, Lonnie (Judy) Jessup, Lester (Shirley) Jessup and Kenneth (Brenda) Jessup.

 

Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Rogers, Sr.; her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Boyd and Barbara Jessup, Clarence and Eugenia Jessup, Wayne and Inez Jessup, Bevel Jessup; and brother-in-law, Grady Frye.

 

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Cox-Needham Chapel at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Rickey Easter and Rev. Will Watson officiating.

 

Interment will follow in the Pilot Mountain City Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Albion Missionary Baptist Church, 131 Big Sky Trail, Mt Airy, NC 27030 or Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
