Mary Elizabeth (Jessup) Joyce

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Jessup Joyce, 91, of Pilot Mountain, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 13, 2019.  She was born November 18, 1927 to German Caleb and Ida Owens Jessup.  She married Wayne Pell Joyce.  She was a housewife and enjoyed cooking and farmed most of her life.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one son: Travis Joyce; one brother; Alfred Wayne Jessup and one sister, Frances Ida Reeves.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A graveside service will be held, Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Westfield Friends Meeting. The Rev. Gerald Jones will be officiating.

The family wants to give a big thanks to special care givers, Maggie Shuff and Sara Simmons, and to Sabrina with Mountain Valley Hospice for their compassionate care, and especially Elizabeth’s son, Travis, for all of his many years of care.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice at 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030 or to Old Westfield Friends Meeting Cemetery Fund at 3161 Old Westfield Road, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.
