Rev. Clayton Tilley, 83, of Siloam peacefully left this world and entered his eternal home on February 1, 2018. He was born May 5, 1934 to the late John Samuel and Edna Wall Tilley.
Left to treasure his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Jolene Davis Tilley; four sons, John (Sondra) of Siloam, David (Wanda) of Mount Airy, Daniel (Catherine Beasley) of Cary, Michael of Asheville; one daughter, Debbie (Wendell Hooker) of Mount Airy; four grandchildren Josh Owens (Emily) of Mount Airy, Elizabeth Hooker of Dallas, Texas, Emma and Cohen Tilley of Herndon, Virginia; two great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Hailey Owens of High Point; and one sister, Shirley Cook. In addition to his parents, Rev. Tilley was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Cecil Tilley and one sister, Maxine Bryant.
A celebration of life will be conducted on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Church of Corinth, 1177 Pratt Road, Ararat, North Carolina with Rev. Jerry Perdue officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. preceding the service.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to all hospice caregivers and personnel who worked diligently assisting Rev. Tilley and his family during his final days. Floral tributes will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
