Rickey David Slawter

Rickey David Slawter, 58, of Mount Airy, passed away at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson on January 2, 2020.  Born August 11, 1961, he was the son of Leslie and Lena Donathan Slawter.  A kind-hearted and family-loving man, Mr. Slawter enjoyed fishing, family gatherings, and good conversations with those he met along the way.   He leaves behind to cherish his memory; a son, Justin Slawter; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve (Faye) Slawter, Gray Slawter (Sandra Keener), and Keith Slawter; and five  sisters and brothers-in-law, Hilda (Mike) Tope, Judy Cox, Debra (Larry) Bryant, Tammie Castevens, and Gaye (Sammy) Jones; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home at 2:00 PM.  Family will receive friends immediately following the service.  Bro. David Horton will be officiating.
