Rodney Ray King, Sr.

Mr. Rodney “Ray” King, Sr., age 82, of Westfield, NC, passed away at his home, April 4, 2018. He was born on July 22, 1935, in Stokes County, NC., to the late Elmer Ray King and Rachel Simmons King.

Mr. King is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Ann Jones King; a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney Ray King, II and Courtney; and three grandchildren, Sam, Nora and Peter King.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Ray and Rachel Simmons King and an infant sister, Patricia King.

A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Brown Mountain Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Eddie Carter officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military rites by Mount Airy VFW Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain VFW Post 9436.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for their love, support and care for Ray.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Brown Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
