Roosevelt "RJ" Atkins Obituary
Mr. Roosevelt Junior Atkins “RJ”, age 81, of Pilot Mountain, NC, passed away on May 15, 2018, at Twelve Oaks Rest Home. He was born on December 26, 1936, to the late Rural Junior Atkins and Emma Pearl Cain Atkins.
Mr. Atkins is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Annette and Randy Harden, Sheila and Rick Easter and Renee and Keith Watson; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Swift; and a special niece, Dawn Hughes and her husband, Mike.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Manuel Atkins; his parents, Rural Junior Atkins and Emma Pearl Cain Atkins; his step-father, Lester Swift; a son, Randall Glenn Atkins; a great-grandson, Maddox Colt Haymore; four sisters, Mary Jane, Betty Sue, Mamie, and Lilly; and a brother, Paul Swift.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Brim’s Grove Baptist Church at 2 P.M. with Rev. Gerald Jones and Rev. Barry Clement officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church.
