Shelby Jean (Flynn) Sowder

Mrs. Shelby Sowder, age 78, of Siloam, NC, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. She was born on February 18, 1941 to Paul Monroe Flynn and Annie Pearl Whitaker Flynn. Mrs. Sowder is loved and will be missed by her husband, Marshall Sowder; her sister, Ellen Flynn Patton; and brother and sister-in-law, Franklin and Frankie Flynn. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Monroe Flynn and Annie Pearl Whitaker Flynn; one sister, Ruby Flynn Bowman; and three brothers Harold Flynn, Thomas Flynn, and Wilson Flynn. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Mickey Brooks officiating. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
