Anita Holt Arrington, 59, of Mount Airy, passed away at Novant Forsyth Medical Center, February 12, 2021. Born September 20, 1961, she was the daughter of James and Janice Hawks Holt. Left behind to cherish her memory are, her son and daughter-in-law, Cody Dale (Crystal Alley) Arrington; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky (Joan) Holt, Gary (Penny) Holt; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna Steve) Chilton, Mitzi (Sam) Aldridge; three very special individuals loved like sons, Brian Smyers, Michael Fogleman, Charles Reeves; and a host of very special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Janice Hawks Holt.
Compassionate and caring, Anita was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She faithfully attended church and loved her Lord. She was a devoted special needs teacher, encouraging her students to do and grow to their greatest potential. Her kindness, warm smile, and strong faith through all adversity, will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 2:00 at Bottom Road Tabernacle, in Mount Airy. Pastor Kelly Haynes and Pastor Dave Anders will be officiating. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at the church from 12:15-1:30. Interment will follow in the Arrington Family Cemetery on Gospel Time Way, Mount Airy.
Ms. Arrington will lie in state, Monday, from 1:00-5:00, Tuesday, from 9:00-5:00, and Wednesday, from 9:00-10:00 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Cox-Needham for her funeral cost would be sincerely appreciated. The family asks that all attendees please wear masks and practice social distancing to aid in the prevention and spread of COVID-19. If not feeling well or running a fever, please refrain from attending.
