Anne (Smith) Gordon

Mrs. Anne Smith Gordon, age 90, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on November 5, 2022 at Pruitt Health in Elkin.

She was born on November 23, 1931, in Stokes County, to the late LaFoy Anderson Smith and Daisy Mae Ashburn Smith.

Mrs. Gordon worked as a tax collector for the Town of Pilot Mountain for over 18 years and was a member of Brim’s Grove Baptist Church

She is survived by her son, William Kent Gordon, and wife, Jackie; daughter Darla Gordon Simmons, and husband, Eric; brother, Joel Smith; sisters, Earline Pryor and Elizabeth Mays and husband, Kenneth; grandchildren, Erica Anne Simmons, Jeffrey Stein, and wife, Libby, Travis Lowry, Brittany Sheets, and husband, Cameron, and Ashley Lowry; and great-grandchildren, Emberly Sheets, Jace Sheets, and Adalaide Stein.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy John Gordon; sister, Doris Ayers; brother-in-law, Jim Pryor; and sister-in-law, Gayle Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 2:00pm at Cox-Needham Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gerald Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45pm-1:45pm.  Interment will follow at Pilot Mountain City Cemetery
