Anne Bell McBride, age 73, a resident of Stokes County, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. She was born on September 14, 1952, and lived a life centered around love for her family and those closest to her.
Anne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband, James Edward McBride; her children, Robert Smith and James Smith; siblings Jimmy (Helen) Johnson, Shirley Shoe, and Betty Henry; two grandchildren; Santanna Dion, Tyler Smith and six great-grandchildren; and her special niece, Lisa Johnson, who held a very dear place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Wilson Johnson and Alise Jane Johnson; her brothers, H. L. Johnson and Elbert Johnson; her sisters, Gaynell Tilley and Christina Ford; her grandson, Justin R. Smith; and her great-grandson, River Smith.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Elder Rodney Marshall. Burial will follow at Old Orchard Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Westfield, North Carolina.
Anne will be remembered for her strength, her caring spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. Her memory will forever be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
