Evangelist Arthur Powell Cain, Jr., age 79, of Pilot Mountain, passed away peacefully late Sunday evening, June 1, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Arthur was born on August 29, 1945, in Stokes County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Powell Cain, Sr. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Vietnam. Following his military service, Arthur was employed by RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company, where he worked diligently for many years. He was also an evangelist who loved God and that preached the good news of Jesus Christ and would witness to people everywhere he went. One of his favorite scriptures is 2 Timothy 4: 7-8 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day.”
In addition to his parents Arthur and Sadie, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra Kay Ayers Cain, with whom he shared a devoted and enduring bond; brothers, John and Bill; and his sisters, Nancy, Linda and Peggy.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Kevin Cain and wife Amanda, and Michael Cain and wife Amber; three beloved grandchildren, Kayla Renee' Cain Smith and husband Jacob, Austin Lee Cain, and Junior Ray Cain; his sister, Verlie Mae Ayers and husband Ronnie; and his brother, Leroy Cain.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow beside his beloved wife at Pinnacle Community Church Cemetery with military honors.
