Mr. Bartley Holland Goswick, age 62, of King, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly on April 2, 2022 at his home.
The son of Alex and Betty Goswick, he was born on February 4, 1960. He worked at AutoZone in King and loved working with the people there. At home, Bart enjoyed spending time with his wonderful dog Henry and always seemed able to work him into conversations. Every phone call with his cousin in Texas started with the phrase “Gig’em Henry” to indicate that all was good and they could speak freely. He spent time researching history, politics, and his family. He enjoyed bluegrass music, old movies and shows, and everything on METV. Bart looked forward to and will be missed at Wednesday Pickin’ open music nights at Foothills Grill and Tap in King, as well as his time with area patriot groups. Extremely knowledgeable about state and federal laws, and politics, Bart was always up for a good debate with both friends and foe. He would often make his point, if not winning the discussion outright.
Bart is survived by his girlfriend Joy White, his best friend Ralph, and his many friends in and around King and Pilot Mountain. His family, “Aunt Weesie” Louise R Goswick of Bryan, Texas, as well as many cousins and their families from both North Carolina and Texas. Also surviving Bart is his wonderful and loyal companion in life, Henry the dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Betty Goswick of Durham, NC and most recently King, NC.
A celebration of his life will be announced on Facebook for a later date. Further plans are for him to be interred near his parents and grandparents at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham, North Carolina.
Cox-Needham Funeral Home is respectfully serving the Goswick family.
