Mrs. Bertha Mae Hall Thomas, age 106, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on March 23rd, 2024, at Northern Regional Hospital Nursing Facility, where she loved everyone who cared for her while there.
She was born on June 8th, 1917, in Carroll County, Virginia, to the late Reverdy Charlie and Mary Alice Tate Hall.
Mrs. Thomas lived a life filled with love and passion. She found solace and inspiration in attending church, where her faith blossomed. Her green thumb brought beauty to the world through her love for gardening and flowers. Her creativity shone through her quilting, creating intricate masterpieces that warmed the hearts of many. She also found joy in canning vegetables, preserving the bounties of nature.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Puckett and Mary, Lee Puckett, Keith Puckett and wife Heidi; daughters, Rebecca Puckett Johnson, Robin Tesh and husband Tim; grandchildren, April Puckett, Eric Puckett, Angela Harrison and husband Phillip, Desiree Puckett, Charlie Puckett and wife Deborah, Colleen Puckett, and Victoria Tesh and husband Donnie; sister-in-law, Opal Hall; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas; her brothers, Carl, Clark, Reed, Oscar, John, Tom, and A.C. Hall; sisters, Nettie Bryant, Carrie Reynolds, Ruth Cox, Alice Sechrest, Joyce Chappell, Alma Enfield, and Sue Millard; son, Donald Puckett; grandchildren, Callie, Chris, and Treva.
A funeral service will be conducted March 29th, 2024, at Whitaker Chapel Methodist Church located at 751 Whitaker Chapel Road, Pilot Mountain, North Carolina 27041, at 2pm with Rev. David Raiford and Rev. Mark George officiating. Burial will follow the service at Zion United Methodist Church. Mrs. Thomas will lie-in-state from 1pm-2pm at Whitaker Chapel Methodist Church on March 29th, 2024. Mrs. Thomas will lie-in-state at the funeral home on Thursday, March 28th , from 3pm until Friday, March 29th, at 11am.
