Betty Jo (Holt) Cox

Betty Jo Holt Cox, age 88, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart, VA.  Betty Jo was born on February 20, 1936 in Surry County to the late Joe Albert & Virginia Wealth Rogers Holt.

Throughout her life, Betty Jo dedicated herself to work as a cafeteria worker at Nancy Reynolds Elementary School.  She was a beloved wife to her late husband of 61 years, James Delano Cox.  Her kindness, warmth & devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew her.

Betty Jo is survived by two daughters, Paulette (David) Inman & Paula (Doug) Hooker.  Her cherished grandchildren, Antionette (Jeff) Carter & Brice (Tiffany) Hooker, will continue to hold her close in their hearts.  Betty Jo’s love also extends to her five great-grandchildren, McKinley Carter, Sydney Carter, Crateon Hooker, Sloane Hooker & Remington Hooker.

A graveside service to honor Betty Jo’s life will be held at 11:00am on Monday, May 6th at Brown Mountain Baptist Church in Westfield, with Rev. Eddie Carter officiating.
