Bonnie Mae (Roberts) Buckner

Mrs. Bonnie Mae Roberts Buckner, age 88, of Westfield, passed away on April 24th, 2024, at Village Care of King.

She was born on June 1st, 1935, in Stokes County, North Carolina, to the late Otis Roberts & Hazel Young Hege.

Being born & raised in Stokes County, Bonnie was truly a southern girl.  She loved caring for her horses & she loved country music, listening, singing & playing the guitar.  She spent her working years as a waitress & she loved meeting & talking to everybody in the community.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Joe (Sandra) McGill; two step-daughters, Wanda (Jerry) Hazel & Janet Saunders; three step-grandchildren, Jean Hazel, Teresa Kearns & Michael Saunders; two brothers, Gene & Jr. Roberts; four sisters, Kathy Kidd, Judy Stevens, Phyllis Maynard & Robin Roberts Hooker; her aunt Pat, uncle Paul & cousin Jr. (Heidy) Hooker; along with several other cousins & a whole host of friends & other loved ones.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Buckner was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Buckner.

A memorial service for Bonnie will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, April 28th at Faith Baptist Church (1047 Tom East Rd. Westfield, NC 27053) with Pastors Paul Hooker, Jr. & David Allen Grubbs officiating.  A visitation with the family will be held at the church one hour prior to the service, from 2:00pm until 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Mountain Valley Hospice.
