Bonnie Jean Craig, 75, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025.
Born on June 26, 1950, in Cambridge, Maryland, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Russell and Betty Elzey. She moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 1952 and was a graduate of South Broward High School. In later years, Bonnie made North Carolina her home, living in Burlington, King, and Pinnacle.
On October 22, 2000, she married the love of her life, James Dennis “JD” Craig, who preceded her in death. Bonnie enjoyed fishing, attending car races, playing cards, bingo, and faithfully attending Lighthouse Baptist Church. She found joy in simple pleasures, time with family, and fellowship with friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bonnie was preceded in death by her son, Shane Hensley; two sisters, Carol Suit and Linda Dickerson; and two brothers, Daniel Elzey and Michael Elzey.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Shanon Norris (Chris); two granddaughters, Kira Norris and Kaelah Shields; her niece, Ann Marie Seabrease and family; her nephew, Melvin Suit; her sister, Joyce Klendworth and family; her brother, Russell E. Elzey and family; many beloved cousins, Reena, Keith, Joyce, and Ann; her dear friend, Denise Snyder; and her great-nieces and great-nephews who lovingly called her “Aunt Bunny,” Amanda Hastings, Kenzie Rutter, Brayden Hastings, Brody Millman, and Christian Millman.
