Carrie Hiatt-Smith Obituary

Mrs. Carrie Ann Hiatt-Smith, age 58, of Pilot Mountain, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday afternoon, October 31, 2025. She was born on October 2, 1967, in Forsyth County to Sandra Young Cornell Hiatt and the late Raymond Terrell Hiatt.

On May 18, 2012, Carrie married the love of her life, Johnny Leo Smith, and together they shared six wonderful years filled with laughter, devotion, and deep companionship before his passing in June of 2018. Not a day went by that she did not carry his memory close to her heart.

Carrie worked as a clerk at Kiser’s Store, where she was known for her kindness and genuine smile. However, her greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with her sons, Christopher Harp and Jacob (Kaelin) Harp, and found her truest happiness in time shared with her beloved grandchildren — Chloe, Madison, Kinsley, Wyatt, and Raelynn Harp. They were her pride and joy, and she loved them beyond measure.

Those left to treasure her memory include her loving mother, Sandra Hiatt; her children and grandchildren; her siblings, Doris Cecil, Randall Hiatt, Damen Cornell, Stephanie Hiatt, Jennifer Cornell, and Stephen Hiatt; as well as two very special nieces, Jennifer Johnson and Tia Cecil.

In addition to her father and her beloved husband Johnny, Carrie was preceded in death by her cousin, Crystal Taylor.

At this time, no formal services are being held.
