Charles Wayne Bennett

Charles Wayne Bennett, 75, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at his home.  He was born in Stokes County on February 24, 1945 to the late Charles Junior Bennett and Marie Wall Bennett.  He was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company Marketing Department.  After retirement he became an accomplished rock mason.  He loved the outdoors and wildlife, spending much of his retirement dedicated to the propagation of his beloved wild turkeys.   He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Bennett, children Jill Tucker (Bill), Kimberly Bennett Ferguson (Maurice) and Eric Bennett (Mandee), four grandchildren Emily Tucker (Gabe), Justin Bennett, Bryson Bennett and Braydon Bennett, and nephew Bryan Turney (Annette).   Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Linda Turney.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Bennett will lie in state inside the church from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM.
