Charles William Key, 19, of Boonville, passed away unexpectedly, November 23, 2021, at his home. Born August 25, 2002, he was the son of Judy Pond and Billy Jay Snow, Sr. Left to cherish his memory are, his mother; his stepfather, Joey Vanhoy; his father; brothers and sister-in-law, Kenneth (Laken) Key, Matthew Key, Tyler Vanhoy, Zachary Vanhoy, Ian Vanhoy; sister, Stephanie Snow; grandparents, Thelma Slate, Karen Bowman, Ehtel Newman, Ann Slate; special nieces and nephew, Kimberley, Conner, and Paisley Key; numerous aunts and uncles; and special friends, William Key, Bryson Snow, Aunt Betty, and Junior Blevins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles William Pond, Sr. and Charlie Cecil Slate.
Charles enjoyed life, as evidenced by his constant smile. Said by his brother, “He never met a stranger and a friend to all.” He loved playing basketball with his friends and family and would enjoy time with his bearded dragon, Gus. As a young adult, he was developing a strong work ethic and worked as a saw operator for almost a year for NCFI in Mount Airy. His presence and huge heart will be sorely missed, especially at family gatherings where he enjoyed being in the middle of it all.
Celebration of Life will be held at Cox-Needham November 30, 2021 at 4pm. Family and friends will gather to share and rejoice in Charles's life.
