Mr. Charlie Junior Hardy, age 80, of Siloam, passed away on July 15th, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center.
He was born on October 11th, 1943, in Surry County, to the late Charlie Martin and Jennie McKinney Hardy.
Mr. Hardy was a beloved member of the Hardy Brothers Trucking, he was a passionate truck driver, and devoted friend. Charlie spent much of his life behind the wheel, driving trucks for Hardy Brothers. His dedication to his work and his love for the open road were evident to all who knew him.
In his spare time, Charlie found joy in fishing at the coast, where he spent many serene days casting lines and enjoying the beauty of nature. His passion and love for the outdoors extended to gardening and farming, where he nurtured the land with care and skill.
Charlie was also known for his generosity and willingness to help his neighbors. Whether lending a hand with a project or offering support in times of need, his kindness and sense of community left a lasting impact on those around him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Peggy Scott Hardy; son, Mark Johnson (Melanie) Hardy; one niece, Peggy Murray.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Hardy Davis; brother, Dewey Hardy.
A funeral service will be conducted July 19th, 2024, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church at 11:00am with Pastor Mickey Brooks and Rev. Curtis Ponder officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. There will be no formal visitation.
