Donald Gray Adkins, age 71, of King, celebrated his homecoming with Jesus on September 3, 2022 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
He was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 1950, in Stokes County, to the late Jackie Logan Adkins and Robert Adkins.
Donald worked over thirty years for Douglas Battery in Winston Salem and preached God’s word for many years. He was married to Rita Key of King for 33 years. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend.
He enjoyed the mountains, good jokes and “pickin”, yard sales, listening to preaching and spending time with his daughter, son-in law, son and grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in law; (Brian & Sharon Anderson) and their children (Ethan & Sarah); son, Jesse Adkins and his daughters (Aubrey & Danielle), one sister and brother in law (Jeff & Kathy Smith); two brothers and sisters in law (Ronnie Dale & Patty Adkins & James and Sherry Adkins); his favorite uncle & his wife (Aldean & Anita Logan) and special friends (Michael Holt & Larry Blakely Sr.).
