Donald Preston Hutson, 84, of Mount Airy, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 12, 2022.
He was born in Surry County to Murphy and Mecie Johnson Hutson on September 22, 1937.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will be surely missed. He leaves behind to cherish his memory; two sons, Ray (Geraldine) Hutson and Ricky (Phyllis) Hutson; three daughters, Libby (Jerry) Payne, Kathy Lynn (Gilmer) Gammons, and Shirley Hall; a special nephew, Dale Tolbert; two sisters, Louise Atkins and Pauline Johnson; fifteen grandchildren and their spouses are left to lovingly remember him, Gray (Darcy) Wallace, William (Lisa) Wallace, Jodie Gammons, Jamie Gammons, Kevin Hall, Chad Hall, Teresa Moser, Tracie (Chris) Pipinos, Amy (Clinton) Quesinberry, Mandy (Mike) Hall, Tiffany (Jeremy) Burris, Joe (Sarah) Hutson, Kathy Sanderson, Wendy Payne, and Christopher (Melissa) Marion; twenty nine great grandchildren; Daniel Moser, Bailey Hiatt, Jonathan Pipinos, Justin Pipinos, Coey Pipinos, CJ Quesinberry, Brooke Quesinberry, Jordan Quesinberry, Jackie Coe, Preston Hall, Bethanee Hall, Bentley Burris, Bella Burris, Briella Burris, Shelby Gammons, Carley Bryant, Connely Hutson, Sam Hutson, Penelope Hutson, Derek Sanderson, Jr., Tristan Sanderson, Nathaniel Sanderson, Zachary Wallace, Samantha Marmolejo, Nicholas Wallace, Hannah Harvey, Eli Adams, Jesse Outlaw, and Collin Marion; five great-great grandchildren and one on the way, Alora Pipinos, Emmet Pipinos, Jett Pipinos, Hudson Quesinberry, Thora Harvey, and baby Marmolejo, due in July.
Mr. Hutson was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Cassell Hutson, his parents, Murphy and Mecie Johnson Hutson; a brother, Vance Hutson, three sisters, Stella Robertson, MaryAnn Tolbert and Lorene Perdue; a grandson, Chris Gammons; and a son-in-law, Ronald Hall.
Visitation will occur at The Community Church, on O’Neal Road in Mount Airy on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 6-8pm.
Funeral Services will be held at The Community Church on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 1pm.
Mr. Hutson’s service will be officiated by Frank Danley, Greg Hall, Ray Hutson and Davis Smith.
Interment will follow at the Blackwater Baptist Church Cemetery.
